Libraries, museums, and art galleries require conventional fire suppression systems such as water sprinklers to protect the structure.  To protect the irreplaceable contents of the building the fire protection system should include two additional vital components - a fire detection and alarm system such as the Kidde OrionTM High Sensitivity Smoke Detection System (HSSD®) which is 1,000 times more sensitive than conventional smoke detectors; and clean agent suppression, such as FM-200®, which works quickly, but does not leave a damaging residue.  By using very sensitive detection like the HSSD along with clean agent suppression you have the opportunity to detect and extinguish a smoldering fire before it causes major damage.

Clean Agent Fire Suppression

Common fire suppression agents such as water and dry chemical can damage rare books, antiques, and artwork, causing more damage than the fire itself.  Clean agents quickly extinguish the fire without causing additional damage to valuables.

Alarm Systems

The Kidde Orion uses an air sampling technique and laser particle counting technology to detect highly diluted smoke.  This sensitivity enables facility managers to discover and correct potentially disastrous fire situations before they get started, often without activating the facility's fire suppression systems.

Clean Agent Portable Extinguishers

Supplement your facility's built-in systems with clean agent portable extinguishers such as Ansul's Cleanguard®.
