Fire Suppression in Manufacturing

Protecting People and Processes

CO systems from Chemetron protect, without damaging equipment.

We offer suppression sytems for any industrial application.

Fire hazards abound in the typical automated plant environment.  Large amounts of flammable liquids, gases and materials provide ample fuel for fires in everything from industrial processes and paint spray booths to robotics and hazmat storage.  Causes of fires range from electrical shorts and machinery sparks to overheated elements, and even industrial sabotage.  Having effective fire suppression is critical not just to extinguish the fire quickly, but to reduce cleanup and repair time so that production operations can resume as soon as possible.

Dry Chemical Systems

These use either Class ABC or Class BC dry chemical to suppress fire fast, before it has an opportunity to grow in size or intensity. Dry chem systems are compact, reliable and rugged.

Clean Agent Systems

In sensitive electronic equipment -- process controls, robotics, CNC machinery -- fires must be suppressed in seconds to minimize fire damage without leaving harmful residue that causes cleanup-related downtime.  Depending on the application, Lane offers various clean agent systems, including:

  • Carbon Dioxide, for areas that are normally unoccupied
  • FM-200® Systems are safe for people and are suitable for protection of automated electronics and industrial manufacturing facilities
  • FE-13TM Systems are designed for applications where there are high ceilings and/or the objective is to inert the area

Integrated Alarm and Control

A complete fire protection system includes a "brain" that receives input from the detection devices, sounds alarms, shuts down equipment and activates fire suppression systems if necessary.
